Banteay Srei is a Hindu temple of the X Century in Cambodia. Its name means "Fortress of Women" and is dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. Most of the temple is built of red sandstone, and the columns and interior walls feature an astonishing number of highly detailed decorations. For these characteristics, the temps is often called "Jewel of Khmer art" or "Precious jem".
